We also were able to have Minneapolis Community and Technical College President Phil Davis at the booth; that's President Davis' photo above. I chatted with him a bit about what he believes is the most rewarding part of his position. He discussed how rewarding that it is to be able to help people fulfill their ambitions. His advice to prospective college students: “Study hard, take rigorous courses because it will serve you well, and it will stretch your mind.”

Today is also the Governor’s Fire Safety Day at the fairgrounds, which has brought many fair-goers to our fire safety area. I had the chance to talk with Don Beckering, who is the State Director of First Response. His advice to future firefighters is to start in high school with the fire Explorer program.
